Turlach Boylan, originally from Derry, now lives in KC where he teaches Irish music and performs with traditional band Glen Road. (Turlach performed with Glen Road and Connie Dover in Columbia on March 11, 2007.) Turlach is a former All-Ireland champion on both flute and whistle and has two solo albums to his credit as well as an album with Glen Road.

Singer, songwriter and guitarist Jen Hamel performed for several years with Houston-based Celtic band Clandestine (4 CDs with them) and has a solo album of her own original songs called "A Fine Small Storm." She currently resides here in Columbia where she's a reclusive Ph.D. candidate in Biological Sciences.

Dirty Linen Magazine (folk mag) had this to say about Jen's solo album, Fine Small Storm:

"...Last but not least, Hamel's songwriting might be the most appealing thing about the disc. "Babylon," a song constructed out of old nursery rhymes and proverbs, and "Peggy," which she built out of ballad plots and commonplaces, are novel uses of the tradition. Both are daring attempts, and turned out to be great songs. This is precisely the kind of innovation that is itself traditional, and the kind we see the least. Her thoroughly original song "Lonesome Heaven" is sweet, sad, and a little cryptic, reminding me of 10,000 Maniacs in the Wishing Chair era - high praise indeed!"
- Steve Winick, Dirty Linen

This will be a wonderfully fun evening of music and dance for the whole family!
