|
Luck Penny, CMCAA's performing ensemble, recently added Ian Walsh, a young fiddler from St. Louis to the lineup. An alumnus of the St. Louis Irish Arts program (www.slia.org), Ian transferred to Mizzou this fall and was looking for opportunities to play traditional music. He is a highly accomplished musician who has competed at the All-Ireland Fleadh on fiddle and also plays mandolin, tenor banjo and whistle. The Columbia Tribune published a profile of Ian in Ovation on November 22. To read the article, see http://archive.columbiatribune.com/2003/nov/20031123ovat003.asp
D'Agostino's has established itself as a great music venue and eatery in Columbia since opening just over a year ago. Owner Debbie D is a blues singer with the Mo' Betta Blues and the D'Agostino family band, and has used her experience as a performer and a Mom to create a comfortable, inviting space to enjoy playing and listening to music. The great Italian food is a bonus! D'Agostino's is located in Columbia in the Village of Cherry Hill, near the intersection of Chapel Hill and Scott Blvd in Columbia.
